FZ99 Lounge Masters #2 was a first for the series. Players gathered in person at Red Bull Gaming Sphere Tokyo, the rest of the field joined online, and 8 GPs across every F-Zero 99 league played out to live cheers from the venue.

The GP division went to ナスホルン. He had come close before, taking second at PWCUP #1 in 2024, but a major title had always slipped away. This time the road to the top was far rougher than the winning score suggests. A rank out in the opening Knight League left him buried in the standings. What followed were seven straight GPs at an average of 880 points, and when the dust settled he had 6754 points, 270 clear of the field, and the first major title of his career.

The Early Leaders

nag took the opening Knight League with 930 points and held the overall lead through the first three GPs. Behind him, defending champion Misa looked every bit the favorite, and 922 points in the King League kept him within striking distance. Then came the Ace League. Misa lost his connection in the very first race, scored zero, and just like that the title defense was over.

しおっち inherited the lead on the back of remarkable consistency, averaging 856 points across the first four GPs.

Seven GPs Without a Miss

While the names at the top kept changing, ナスホルン was quietly stacking points. The opening stumble left him on 594, and from there he simply stopped missing. He reeled off 890, 884 and 868, seized the overall lead at Mirror Knight, the fifth GP played, and never let go. A 938-point statement in Mirror King stretched the gap heading into the finale.

reo's Blue Falcon Charge

The most dramatic arc of the day belonged to reo. Three straight rank outs left him buried in the midfield after three GPs. Then the switch flipped. He posted 946 points in the Ace League, followed with a tournament-best 968 to win Mirror Knight, and kept pouring it on with 930 and 892. All of it came on Blue Falcon, a machine widely considered tough to win with in a lobby this stacked. By the end of Mirror King he had climbed all the way to 2nd, 158 points behind ナスホルン with one GP to run.

The Final Mirror Ace

Three players entered the finale with a shot at the title. ナスホルン led on 5942, reo sat 158 back, and しおっち lurked 222 behind. The pressure found its victim early. reo went out in race 3 and limped to 472 points, his charge ending one GP short. CPU.ルネアちゃん closed with 850 to snatch 3rd place from him by a mere 26 points.

Ahead of them, ナスホルン never gave the chasers an opening. A composed 812-point finish sealed the title by 270 points over しおっち, whose steady day earned silver.

Classic Division

Masters #2 also debuted a Classic Mini Prix division, contested by 20 players over 6 GPs on the classic tracks. nag took the inaugural Classic title by 40 points over Dillion, and FCR フルカラー completed the podium.
